1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using TaxRoo ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and TaxRoo. The Service is intended for use by Australian residents and businesses.

2. Description of Service

TaxRoo provides online tax calculation tools, including but not limited to:

• Income tax calculators for Australian tax brackets
• GST calculators and converters
• BAS (Business Activity Statement) estimators
• ABN lookup and verification tools
• Deduction tracking and reporting (Pro subscribers)

3. Important Disclaimer

You should always consult a qualified tax professional or registered tax agent for advice specific to your circumstances. Tax laws are complex and subject to change. We do not guarantee the accuracy of calculations or their suitability for your specific situation.

4. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used for fraudulent purposes.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

5.1 Free Tier

Basic calculators are available free of charge. Features may be limited compared to paid subscriptions.

5.2 Pro Subscription

• Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance
• Prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
• Payment is processed securely by Stripe

5.3 Cancellation and Refunds

• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings
• Access continues until the end of your current billing period
• We offer a 14-day refund for new subscriptions if you're not satisfied
• Refund requests after 14 days are considered on a case-by-case basis

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute our content without permission
• Use automated systems to access the Service excessively
• Impersonate others or provide false information

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of TaxRoo, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are owned by TaxRoo or its licensors and are protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without express written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law:

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months prior to the claim
• We are not responsible for any losses resulting from your reliance on calculations or information provided by the Service

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy conferred on you by the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified by agreement.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TaxRoo and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
